Project Description:
In creating a Spec Book to document the physical UX element operations for PEAR, we looked at the one created for Ocean. It had not been done by Fisker and was very hard to use. The order of contents was confusing, the pages were difficult to understand, and in general it was not well designed. We therefore started from scratch.

The visual design lead created a new template for it with the team's input, and I filled in the content for each control and other UX elements planned for the car, carefully considering how to best express the design for each one. Essentially a good design for describing a good design. The result was something much easier to read and use, and much less engineering-feeling.

My Role:
I led the user experience for all the elements of the car, as the PEAR Lead Product Designer.

Additionally, I created all the content for the spec book other than the page template and videos showing lighting, which were done by our excellent visual design lead.

I also presented the design to the design director and full team for review, then to the Fisker Sr. VP of Design.

The Design:
These example pages shown both the PEAR designs themselves and the clarity of the spec book for communicating them.

The Result:
The design was well liked by all teams who saw and were to use it. While the content evolved as we got closer to production, the format never changed, and most content remained the same as well, communicating the design details well.
